Mediaedge:cia (MEC), www.mecglobal.com, a leading media agency, today announced the restructure of its senior management team in Italy with three high-profile changes.
Heading up these changes is the appointment of Alessandro Villoresi, one of the most respected figures in the Italian media industry, who joins MEC as Chairman. In addition, Matteo Cardani and Luca Vergani have been named joint CEOs of MEC, moving up from their position as joint managing directors. MEC is the number one media agency in Italy.
Alessandro joins MEC from Vizeum where he was Chairman and COO for seven years. With an unrivalled wealth of media industry experience gained from a career spanning over 33 years, Alessandro will contribute to the agency's operations and client relationships, working with the entire management team to continue to build and deliver exceptional results for MEC's clients.
As joint CEOs, Luca and Matteo will continue to flourish in the excellent partnership they have formed over the past year creating and delivering a hugely versatile and integrated product to clients. Under their leadership MEC was named Italian Media Agency of the Year and they have won multiple clients such as Q8, Grimaldi, Olympus, Google, Amita (CocaCola HBC), Molinari, Dahlia TV, Star, Yakult, Finmeccanica, Gioco del Lotto, Stage Entertainment, Camomilla (Hello Kitty), Cisalfa, with many others pending. This promotion to joint CEO recognises their management of MEC, the team in Italy and their commitment to clients.
Alastair Aird, Chairman EMEA, MEC, said, ‘MEC has been the leader in Italy for more than a decade. As we prepare for the challenges of the future we've been looking at how we maintain this market-leading position and the appointment of Alessandro was a natural fit. I am delighted also to promote both Luca and Matteo, two highly talented and committed individuals. Developing and investing in our talent is critical for our future. We believe that this is the right team, together with Stefano Sala at GroupM, who will continue to lead MEC Italy into the next decade."
